We have been expressing to the Town of Union board members that we and many Union residents are concerned about the ability of the Department of Environmental Conservation to adequately and thoroughly protect our water, public health, property values, and overall quality of life. We also encourage you to express your concerns about fracking and support for a ban to the Town Board members directly.

You can do so in the following ways:

  1. Speak at a Town Board meeting
The Town Board meets every first and third Wednesday of every month, though the summer schedule for July and August will change. For exact dates, consult the calendar on the Town of Union website at  http://www.townofunion.com/calendar.html.

  2. Contact Board Members Directly
You can call, write, or email the board members directly. Contact information for each member, along with a brief biographical background of each member, is on the Town of Union website at  http://www.townofunion.com/town_council.html .

  3. Sign the Petition
If you have not yet signed the petition expressing your concerns about fracking in the Town of Union and in support of the ban, you can do so online on our website or by emailing your full name and current address in the Town of Union (including the villages of Endicott and Johnson City) to toucaf@riseup.net .
